Education vs. Skills: Why You Need Both to Succeed in Life

Future First: Guiding Students Toward a Bright Career

New Series "Empowering Students with Education, Skills, and Vision."

ST 1
In today's rapidly changing world, many voices promote the idea that skills are enough to succeed ignoring the importance of formal education. This mindset is dangerous, especially for the youth of Pakistan.
After completing intermediate, students often feel confused whether to pursue higher education or take to skill-based careers. It's essential to understand that both education (degree) and skills (practical work) go hand in hand. A skill without foundational knowledge has limited value, just like a degree without practical application is incomplete.
Some influencers, driven by fame and profit, have convinced students that "skills are everything" and degrees are useless. They charge high fees in the name of skill-building, open their academies and institutions, and in doing so, mislead the youth. This has sparked a trend where even school students leave their studies to "make quick money." This is extremely harmful to their future.

As a nation, we must understand that:
  • 💡 Skills are essential, but they must be guided by qualified education.
  • 🧠 Knowledge shapes character and ethics, which only proper education can instil.
  • 📜 Degrees are still required globally along with skills to qualify for jobs, visas, and professional growth.
  • 🕊️ Money can give comfort, but not values or discipline — only education can do that.
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 If you study today, you'll be able to educate your future generations tomorrow.

Therefore, we humbly urge all students: Please do not leave your education at any stage or in any class. Whether you've completed intermediate or are currently studying, continuing your academic journey is essential for building a successful and meaningful future.
This is the only way to build a successful, respectful, and impactful life.
